Grand Rapids, Michigan, August 3, 2016 – A new 6,000 square foot retail center is currently under construction at 6755 Kalamazoo Avenue SE in Gaines Township. The development, located just south of the Belle Tire store began site work on the approximately 1.4 acre site last Friday. Design and construction of the building is being provided by Grand Rapids based Architectural Concepts and CD Barnes Construction respectively.

Two businesses that have already signed leases for the new space have just been announced. Both Tropical Smoothie Café and Great Clips salon will soon call the new retail center home. Tropical Smoothie anticipates hiring about thirty part- and full-time positions to staff their new location.

NorthStar Commercial is charged with leasing the new development. According to NorthStar Commercial’s President, Steve Millman, there is still approximately 3,000 square feet of space available for lease. Completion of the retail center is slated for early November of this year.
