OsborneKlein Chooses CD Barnes Construction for Renovation of New Office

Grand Rapids, Michigan, March 14, 2013 — Todd Oosting, Executive Vice President of CD Barnes Construction announced today that the company was selected by Osborne-Klein Financial Services to renovate an existing Portage based office space into their new Ameriprise Financial Office.

“We are very pleased to be selected by Jason Klein and Shaun Osborne to build their Legacy Building,” shared Todd Oosting.  He went on to say, “though the building is constructed partially over a certified wetland area, providing a new challenge for our team, we are confident in our team’s ability to deliver this project on-time and on-budget.”

The building being renovated was originally constructed by the City of Portage in 1996. Unique is the cast-in-place pier foundation that supports the building above a certified wetland area. The entire building will go through a complete transformation. Only the foundation, structural support and exterior framing and roof structure will remain intact.  Mechanicals, electrical, plumbing and safety and security systems selected are state-of-the-art. The heating, ventilation and air conditioning system include Energy Recovery Systems (ERS) designed to maximize output while minimizing cost. Exterior finishes include aluminum windows and entry systems, shingles, cement board siding, composite decking and all new site work. Interior finishes include paint, wall coverings, porcelain tile, glass tile, vinyl flooring, carpet, TV mirrors, glass laminate, real stone veneers and reclaimed wood doors.
