Kentwood Activities Center

Location

Kentwood, MI

As one of The City’s oldest buildings, the Kentwood Activities Center underwent its largest renovation in over 30 years in 2018. The remodel included a new HVAC system, updated restrooms, a new sound system in the gymnasium, and an expanded commercial teaching kitchen. The purpose of expanding the kitchen was to provide additional educational cooking opportunities for the community. The one-story facility also received new LED lighting and occupancy sensors, earning the city energy efficiency credits. During the project, the scope of work increased by 20%, adding only one week onto the schedule. Providing 20 companies and over 104 employees with work, the project was a win-win for the community and the local economy.
