CD Barnes Partners with Local Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

Grand Rapids, Michigan, August 21, 2015 – CD Barnes Construction is once again teaming up with the local Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) chapter to sponsor the Grand Rapids OneWalk in honor of J. Spencer Barnes, the grandson of former owner and corporate founder of CD Barnes, who passed away in 1999 due to complications from Diabetes. Spencer lived with diabetes most of his life and anyone who knew him was aware of his struggle with the disease.

JDRF is an international foundation with the goal of ending Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). The organization’s OneWalk event is their biggest fundraising opportunity with hundreds of thousands of participants raising funds in hopes of finding a cure, treat and prevent T1D. Although there is no cure for diabetes today, CD Barnes Construction is dedicated and determined to be a part of finding one.

CD Barnes has formed a corporate walk team and will be lacing up their sneakers on Saturday, September 12th, 2015 to participate in the Grand Rapids OneWalk. The one and a half mile walk is taking place at Ah-Nab-Awen Park with registration and check-in beginning at 8:30 AM and the actual walk starting at 9:30 AM. For more information about how you can support the walk, either financially, by walking or both, please contact Ellen Frey at CD Barnes Construction.
